Byron Pitts Special, flown on NBC by Dave Herbert Length: 4:57
Description: Filmed in 1979. This a 1/3rd size R/C Pitts.
I got this bird back in 1979. It uses nitro fuel and runs on a belt drive called a Byro Drive.
It was one of the first planes offered from Byron Originals in Ida Grove, Iowa. Sadly they no longer manufacture it,(they make only good fuel now)but it was and still is one of my favorite planes.
You undoubtedly have seen it in several of my videos hanging in my garage.
Well, lots of folks asked if it flies like the FMS simulator I just reviewed?
So here are flights from the early days and on National TV with Kelly Lang interviewing me.
See for yourself in my ESKY FMS Simulator video, where they did a fair job.
